Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month

We cover a wide range of topics, from regular guest speakers to discussions about Mental Health and Laws of the Game and support from our local FA team.

Previous meetings 2022-23

Details of all meetings can be found on social media, but here is a  summary of the recent events.

October – A different event this month and a really interesting session as we had Chris Milliington and his team from Dronfield Town as our guests.  We had an interactive session and Chris gave us his view of what it is like from a manager’s point of view.

September – We had presentations about opportunities to referee abroad. A really useful insight to the tournaments available to all ages!

August – Our Vice Chair, Carl Jones provided us with the latest changes to the IFAB Laws of the Game.

Tim Darnes shared a presentation to help referees choose a local league to officiate on.  Please follow this link for details  Sheffield Leagues

June and July – we held our sessions outside and provided fitness training and guidance on positioning.

May – This was our AGM and Annual Awards evening.  Russ Lagden stepped down as chair, with Clare Thompson taking on the role.  Congratulations to Laura Gilmore for winning the Referee of the Year award.

April  – Our guest speaker was Sam Barrott, EFL Referee.  We had an interactive session and discussed the key attributes of being a referee. Sam gave a presentation on the importance of body language.
